Required Qualifications:
Applicants must:
a) be enrolled in a Chemistry graduate program or closely related field,
b) have completed a BSc degree in chemistry or a closely related field,
c) have taken core undergrad chemistry courses (CHEM*1040, CHEM*1050, CHEM*2070, or equivalent at another university),
d) have previous experience teaching in chemistry undergrad courses,
e) be able to demonstrate an enthusiasm for teaching and satisfactory teaching performance,
f) be able to demonstrate an ability to create and maintain a safe work place,
g) must have competent (in-person) oral presentation skills,
h) Applicants must be able to provide documentation indicating they have completed the following training programs: Lab Safety Training (EHS), WHMIS Training (EHS), Worker Health & Safety Awareness (EHS), Accessible Service Provision (CourseLink) and Making Education Accessible (CourseLink).
Selection of successful candidates will be made in accordance with Article 11.06 of the CUPE 3913-1 collective agreement. Assignments to particular courses will be made in accordance with departmental needs and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
a) Previous taken CHEM*2070 as an undergraduate student or previous experience as TA for CHEM*2070 would be considered an asset,
b) Research area should be related to: structural, and/or physical, and/or theoretical chemistry.
