This course will provide a general, multidisciplinary introduction into the intersection of social and physical factors that affect human health and wellbeing. Students will explore how to reason in conditions of uncertainty, to examine arguments, to embrace contingencies, and to explore the historical roots by which public trust and systems of authority—institutional, governmental, and societal— have been established. Students will engage in the analysis of ethics, history, rhetoric, folklore, and the power of storytelling as they connect to self-expression and the nature of health.

Other Duties Described: 
Lecture design (readings, slides, assignment prompts, etc) The first cohort of BCAHW students will start attending classes in F24. We will be hiring the first f/t faculty member for this position starting July 1, 2024. This GSA will assist with course development, to aid in making sure materials are ready for the fall cohort. The GSA will help with building out the Courselink website, acquiring appropriate readings, creating assignment prompts, and building out potential lectures. Hours are flexible. All duties for this position can be carried out remotely. The position will be supervised by Kimberly Francis and the new BCAHW hire TBA.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications: 
Applicant must be enrolled as a PhD student in IMPR.
Preferred Qualifications: 
PhD student in IMPR and have excellent analytical and writing skills.
