Required Qualifications:

Applicants must:
a) Be enrolled in a Physics graduate program;
b) Have completed a B.Sc. degree in Physics or a related field;
c) Previous experience as a teaching assistant in lab/tutorial settings;
d) Proven ability to communicate with students effectively, while fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment;
e) Be able to demonstrate an ability to create and maintain a safe work place;
f) Be able to demonstrate an enthusiasm for teaching;
g) Applicants must also be able to provide documentation indicating they have completed the following training programs: Worker Health & Safety Awareness (EHS), Accessible Service Provision (CourseLink) and Making Education Accessible (CourseLink).
Please note: By applying for this work assignment, you are agreeing to be available on campus from the start of the contract to complete all assigned duties, available to attend all mandatory meetings, complete accurate and consistent marking by assigned deadlines with written feedback, invigilate and grade midterm exams, and be available to the end of the contract to invigilate and grade final exams. Although every effort will be made to assign TAs to their preferred days/times, we cannot guarantee to meet your preference. You should be prepared to accept any available time slot, except for incidences when an assignment conflicts with a graduate course for which you are enrolled. Selection of successful candidates will be made in accordance with Article 11.04 of the CUPE 3913-1 collective agreement. Assignments to particular courses will be made in accordance with departmental needs and procedures.
