The Vice-President, Finance & Operations provides strategic leadership across a diverse portfolio of services that support the University of Guelph’s academic mission and campus experience. Responsible for financial stewardship, operational excellence, and campus safety, the role ensures a safe, sustainable, and financially sound environment for the U of G community. The Vice-President, Finance & Operations participates in the Council of Senior Administrative Officers, an affiliate of the Council of Ontario Universities.
The portfolio includes emergency management and fire safety; financial services; ancillary services; human resources; physical resources; computing and communication services; and the real estate division.

Sharmilla Rasheed
Vice President Finance & Operations
Sharmilla Rasheed joined the University of Guelph as vice-president (finance and operations) in 2020. With a background in healthcare leadership, Rasheed held previous roles as vice-president (finance and information services) and chief financial officer at St. Joseph’s Health Centre Guelph and St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre Brantford. She has also served as the administrator/CFO for St. Joseph's Housing Corporation, Guelph. Rasheed is a CPA, CMA and holds an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Waterloo.
