Allison Kane Memorial Entrepreneurial Prize

1 Award of $1,000.00

Deadling to apply: April 15, 2023

Award Description: Established by her friends and family in memory of Allison Marie Kane, a former University of Guelph student who was a well-respected leader in her community who had a vibrant personality and expressed her entrepreneurial spirit by returning to her family business after graduation. The Allison Kane Memorial  Entrepreneurial Prize of $1,000 will be presented to the student who has completed or will be completing an ICON class by the end of the Winter semester.

Eligibility: Students who have previously completed or will be completing an ICON class by the end of the Winter semester.

Instructions for completing the application form: Please include the following information with your application: Completed application form (which can be found at the bottom of this page) and your current resume. Your written response to the two question presented on Page 2 below. Please save your application package with the following naming format: LastName_FirstName_AllisonKane_Scholarship Please submit your application by email to: Lang.Awards@uoguelph.ca

Johnson Entrepreneurship Scholarship

1 Award of $10,000.00

Award Description: Chris Johnson is a Bachelor of Commerce graduate (’97), and the founder and CEO of Crown Capital Partners. Chris discovered his inner entrepreneur after graduating and wants to encourage students to consider this as a career choice. Chris believes that entrepreneurism and innovation are critical for the Canadian economy to prosper.

Eligibility: Students registered in a major offered by the Lang School of Business and Economics who have successfully completed 15 credits as of the application deadline.

Hub Incubator Program Awards

Oilseed Innovation Partners Entrepreneurship Fund

2 Awards of $5,000.00 per year

Award Description: Students or student teams interested in commercializing a product or technology associated with an Oil seed are eligible for an award. This generous gift from the Oilseed Innovation Partners has been pivotal to the success of several student start-ups. To receive an award, students must apply to the Hub Incubator Program via the John F. Wood Centre for Business & Student Enterprise.

Warren and Deborah Jestin Impact Award 

1 Award of $1,500.00 per year

Award Description: The Warren and Deborah Jestin Impact Award is given annually to a student in the Hub Incubator program. The award recognizes the business that demonstrates the highest community and social benefit along with a sustainable and profitable business model. The winner is decided each year by a panel of judges.
