research complement through initiatives that promote
dialogue, understanding and communication about research

News
Participants in the SPARK (Students Promoting Awareness
of Research Knowledge) program produce weekly news articles
about U of G research. The articles appear in the Guelph
Mercury and news publications across Ontario and elsewhere.
Publications
Students in the Integrated Agricultural Communications
Program -- which includes SPARK (Students Promoting
Awareness of Research Knowledge) -- write, edit and
coordinate a variety of news publications that highlight
University of Guelph research activities to a wide range
of audiences.
SPARK
Students Promoting Awareness of Research Knowledge (SPARK)
is an award-winning program that allows students to
develop journalism and communication skills while producing
news stories for a variety of publications across Ontario
and elsewhere.
Integrated Agricultural
Communication Program
This unique initiative integrates academic courses with
employment experiences and communication activities to
teach practical writing, communication and journalism
skills to students.
CanACT
CanACT, Canadian Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow,
is the first international chapter of the US-based National
Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow. It is designed
for students with a keen interest in agricultural communications.
SURG
Studies by Undergraduate Researchers at Guelph (SURG) is a refereed, multi-disciplinary electronic journal that publishes research articles by University of Guelph undergraduate students.
