About the Office of Research
The Office of Research at the University of Guelph oversees a $186 million research enterprise spanning seven colleges, the regional Ridgetown campus, 15 research centres, and the University of Guelph/Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness (OMAFA) Agreement. Supporting faculty and student research across all disciplines, the Office fosters innovation and discovery while upholding the highest standards of ethics, integrity and inclusivity.
Since its founding in 1964, the University of Guelph has grown into one of Canada’s leading comprehensive universities, building on the legacy of its three founding colleges: the Ontario Veterinary College (1862), the Ontario Agricultural College (1874) and the MacDonald Institute (1903). Today, we continue to advance knowledge that benefits communities, the environment, food and health ensuring research has a meaningful impact locally and globally.
