These pages show some of the different accounts in the
Perine books. Note that individuals, the "Store," the "Linen
Mill," "Mfd Goods," and "Cash" are treated as distinct accounts.
The journal instructed the bookkeeper where to enter transactions
when posting daily entries into the ledger, and the double
check marks were reminders that each transaction had been posted
twice.
