    About

    Biography

    Johanna Goertz joined the Department of Economics at the University of Guelph in 2007. She received her Vordiplom in Economics from the University of Bonn, and MA and PhD in Economics from Ohio State University. She completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in 2006 at the Center of Operations Research and Econometrics in Belgium.

    Research Interests

    Areas of Specialization: Political Economy, Applied Microeconomics, Experimental Economics.

    Recently, Johanna Goertz' work focuses on information aggregation in large (general) elections, and small elections as committees or juries. If not all voters can communicate with each other, the voting rule has to aggregate the information of the voters. Her work contributes to answering the questions of when and with which voting rule this works best.
