Career Camp Inspires Students to Explore Their Futures

Career Camp Success

The first session of this summer's Own Your Future Career Camp has wrapped up after a week of workshops, networking, and campus exploration, helping high school students build career readiness skills and gain confidence in planning their futures.

The five-day program combined career development activities with experiential learning opportunities, including interactions with professionals, networking events, and behind-the-scenes visits across the University of Guelph. Participants explored a wide range of fields, from wildlife conservation and veterinary medicine to artificial intelligence, engineering, history, and plant science.

Interest in the program continues to grow, with registration numbers already double those of last year's camp. The strong response highlights an increasing demand for opportunities that help young people explore careers, develop workplace skills, and make informed decisions about their future education and career paths.

A second session of Own Your Future Career Camp will take place during the week of August 10, and registration remains open. A limited number of spots are still available for high school students looking to gain valuable career exploration experience before the school year begins.

Not too late for August Registration

Session 2 of the camp runs from Monday, August 10 to Friday, August 14, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

This camp is ideal for high school students grades 9-12 and recent graduates who are eager to explore their future career paths and gain valuable insights and skills for their post-secondary journey and beyond.
