In-Class Workshops

Let us come to you! Developed and delivered by experts, our workshops will help your students understand complex issues related to agriculture, food and the environment. Select a topic from our list, and explore important topics like GMO’s, organic food, agriculture and the environment, animal agriculture, and much more!

In-class workshops are offered by request and upon availability of workshop facilitators. Experience one of our workshops in your classroom by completing a visit request form online.

On-Campus Experiences

Visit U of G for a day of experiential learning! Explore an important topic such as: horticulture, plant agriculture, environmental science, animal science, turfgrass production and management, food science or landscape architecture.

Select a topic from the list provided on our request form and we will create a specialized day for your class. Sessions include hands-on workshops and tours led by faculty, staff and students. On-Campus Experiences are offered by request and upon availability of session facilitators.

SHSM Training Day on Campus

OAC Outreach offers resources and programs to assist secondary school educators and students in the following Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) programs:

  • Agriculture
  • Horticulture & Landscaping
  • Environment

Teachers may complete an online request form to arrange a SHSM Training Day on campus for their students. SHSM Training Days include hands-on workshops and facility tours, earning students up to two certificates of participation towards their major. University of Guelph faculty, students, and staff volunteer to create and deliver SHSM workshops. SHSM Days are offered by request and upon availability of workshop facilitators.
