Pharmacology and Toxicology

Pharmacology and Toxicology examine how chemical compounds interact with living systems. Research in Pharmacology can inform clinical therapies, such as drugs, that can be used to improve health and alleviate disease. Toxicology explores chemicals encountered as environmental contaminants using a range of in vitro and in vivo model systems. Careers in these fields can be found at universities, hospitals, pharmaceutical industries, and government agencies.
