Degree & Specialization Change

Specialization changes (i.e., major, minor, area of emphasis, calendar changes) are requested by submitting a Schedule of Studies Change Request form. Your request will be reviewed by your Academic Advisor and, when applicable, a departmental committee, and you will be notified of their decision.

Information for Current Co-op Students

If you're requesting to change your major, please follow these steps:

  1. Complete the Academic and Work Sequence Agreement.
  2. Submit the Schedule of Studies Change Request form after your Academic and Work Sequence Agreement is approved by your Academic Advisor. Your Schedule of Studies Change Request form submission will be reviewed by the Co-operative Education Team following approval by your Academic Advisor.

If you're requesting to change your minor, Area of Emphasis, Area of Concentration, calendar year and/or program type, your request will only be reviewed by your Academic Advisor.

If you're an undeclared B.Sc.(Env.) or B.Sc.(Agr.) co-op student using the Schedule of Studies Change Request form to declare your major, your form submission will only be reviewed by your Academic Advisor.

If you're a co-op student who wants to withdraw from co-op and change your major, complete the withdrawal process with Co-operative Education and then submit the Schedule of Studies Change Request form to request a change of major.

Co-op Admission

If you're applying for admission to co-op in a different major than your current major, please complete the Co-op Admissions application in Experience Guelph before submitting the Schedule of Studies Change Request form. If you're applying for admission to co-op in your current major, the Schedule of Studies Change Request form is not required.
