As Sessional Lecturers accrue seniority points, they move through the wage grid (Steps 1 – 7). Progression through the wage grid works as follows:
Five seniority points must be successfully completed before moving to the next step except for movement from Step 6 to 7 which requires 10 points AND 35 points overall.
New SLs who submitted an application and have been offered a work assignment with a non-University email will need to have their Central Login ID manually tied to their account.
Forward to fasr.jobs@uoguelph.ca the list of new SL(s) and their University email addresses before the second pay period of each new semester.

The Collective Agreement states "where applicants are demonstrably equal, the senior applicant shall be awarded the work assignment" (Article 11.03). Aside from equal scoring in a hiring assessment, there are other factors that contribute to candidates being "demonstrably equal".
The 10% Rule
Although not explicitly included in the Collective Agreement, it is an established labour law principle that a bargaining unit member is deemed to be a relatively equal candidate to all those who score within the next 10% above that member.
