-This course explores how data can be used to forecast such matters as what customers will buy, where stock prices might go, and which borrowers will repay their loans. Working in a lab with computer software, students learn the core techniques of data analysis, including data mining, pattern detection, graphic visualization, and modelling. The focus of the course will be on the practice of prediction, with students building and testing their own models to inform decision making in areas such as marketing, accounting, finance, and strategy.
