In this course, students will critically examine a series of case studies in One Health such as emerging infectious and foodborne diseases, climate change and resource management policy; biodiversity and human health, and food security. Each case will involve an analysis of context, key background, methodologies, strengths, and challenges associated with past practices, decision making processes, and identification of future opportunities for implementing a One Health approach. Through individual efforts and multidisciplinary teamwork, students will evaluate how system-thinking has and could be used to advance our understanding of these challenges, and will consider economic, social as well as scientific factors contributing to the progress made to date. ****. Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Degree: 
PhD in progress related to field
Prior Teaching Experience: 
Successful teaching related to field at college or university level
Required competence, capability, skill and ability related to course content: 
- Advanced training in One Health research. - A PhD (or near completion) in a relevant field such as Public Health, Epidemiology, Veterinary Medicine, Environmental Science, or a related interdisciplinary One Health field. - Demonstrated experience in applying One Health principles in academic, research, or policy settings. Experience with case-based teaching or interdisciplinary instruction is strongly preferred. - Prior teaching experience at the university level, especially in interdisciplinary or health-related courses. Evidence of scholarly activity or research in One Health or related domains.

PhD and expert in course content
Prior Teaching Experience: 
Many years of successful teaching related to contents of the course.
Experience in graduate teaching
Specific Preferred competence, capability, skill and ability related to course content: 
- Graduate of a PhD Epidemiology and/or Public Health program - Previously TA'd or completed the course.
Days Required and Wages
Days and Times Required: 
- 3 hours lecture plus 3 1-hour seminar weekly. - Lectures: Tues & Thurs 1 - 2:30pm - Seminars: Wed 10:30 - 11:30; Wed 4:30 - 5:30; Thurs 4:30 - 5:30. - GTA support will be provided.
Period of the Work Agreement (Start Date and End Date): 
September 2, 2025 to December 22, 2025
Wages (per semester, per full-load): 
minimum $8,838.51 (effective 2025/26)
