Key Responsibilities: Online Platform Management: • Maintain the Get Ready for First-year Chemistry and CHEM*1050 sites on CourseLink. • Manage the Pearson Mastering Chemistry homework platform (or equivalent Platform). • Monitor student engagement and respond to inquiries. • Ensure timely updates and accuracy of online content. • Explore the possibility of employing AI to assist with student communication. Instructional & Student Support: • Participate in regular meetings with instructors. • Collaborate with First-year Lab Coordinator. • Supervise Chemistry Learning Center (CLC) TAs. • Maintain communication with Supportive Learning Groups (SLG). • Manage course communication via email, announcements, and discussion boards. Assessment & Exams: • Organize and manage logistics for midterms and final exams, including: - Room bookings, printing, and invigilation assignments, exam distribution across multiple classrooms. - Exam creation. - Manage grading and grade processing. - Handling accommodations, Student Accessibility Services (SAS) communications, Academic Misconduct, and deferred/supplemental exams. • Process final grades to meet University deadline.
Qualifications

Degree: 
PhD and expert in course content
Prior Teaching Experience: 
Many years of successful teaching related to contents of the course.
Required competence, capability, skill and ability related to course content: 
• Previous experience teaching CHEM*1050. • Strong organizational and communication skills. • Proficiency with CourseLink (D2L), Pearson Mastering Chemistry and university systems. • Ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
Specific Preferred competence, capability, skill and ability related to course content: 
• Previous experience coordinating CHEM*1050 • Familiarity University of Guelph systems such as WinMarks.
Days Required and Wages
Days and Times Required: 
• Maintain availability and accessibility to students, TA's, lab coordinator, and instructors during university business hours • Some evening and weekends may be required during and around exam time
Period of the Work Agreement (Start Date and End Date): 
January 2, 2026 to April 28, 2026
Wages (per semester, per full-load): 
minimum $8,838.51 (effective 2025/26)
