Successful teaching at college or university level
Required competence, capability, skill and ability related to course content: 
Candidate should supply recent evidence of teaching excellence at the College or University level. Candidate may choose to provide prior course evaluations or other assessments of teaching. The department may review prior course evaluations on file in the department. Candidate must provide a clear and academically sound description of the basic content and themes of the proposed course. Candidate must demonstrate the ability to create an effective program of readings and assignments production of genuine comprehension of the central issues addressed in this course. The proposed themes must be clearly reflected in the proposed choice of readings and the structure of the assignments. The candidate may provide previously prepared course materials, (i.e, course syllabi) for the same or an arguably similar course.

PhD and expert in course content
Prior Teaching Experience: 
Successful teaching related to field at college or university level.
Research Experience: 
Quality and or Recent Research activity in areas relevant to the course demonstrating knowledge of current developments in course content.
Specific Preferred competence, capability, skill and ability related to course content: 
Preference will be shown for candidates who can provide evidence of demonstrated research activity in philosophy of biology and/or biology (e.g. peer-reviewed publications or conference presentations) in areas related to course content and a familiarity with current scholarship in these areas.
