In this course, students will explore various forms technology and innovation from the perspective of the child. They will examine why children are important in the innovation, design and development of technology. Students will explore children's holistic development, mental health, well-being and children's rights in relation to technology and innovation. The course will explore the history and evolution of technology, with a focus on examining new and emerging technologies. Students will learn innovation methods and learn through play. Doctorate in the field of ECS, technology, innovation and/or related to children OR prof designation (other than RECE)
Specific Preferred competence, capability, skill and ability related to course content: 
Candidates should provide in their application evidence of prior teaching experience and teaching success/excellence related to course content, which may include a dossier, teaching philosophy, examples of teaching innovations, course developments, evaluations of previously taught courses (e.g., peer evaluations and/or student feedback), reference letters, and any other relevant information they wish to have evaluated by the selection committee (some documents on file in the department or program, such as UofGH Student Feedback Questionnaires of courses taught on UofG contracts, may also be used). Experience in child-centered innovation and technology design, with a strong understanding of children's rights, holistic development, and the ethical implications of emerging technologies on child well-being and future possibilities. Demonstrated strong familiarity with current research in the intersections of technology, innovation and child development, emerging technologies, or related areas, directly related to the content of the course. Evidence of fostering a supportive learning environment/community, such as responsiveness, engagement and adaptability, including creating a safe space for students to voice their questions/concerns.
