“IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING WINTER 2021 WORK ASSIGNMENTS AND COURSE DELIVERY: This course will be offered online. Requirements for Winter 2021 course delivery include: -Course should be designed and delivered within an inclusive and accessible learning environment consistent with the principles of Universal Instructional Design (see: https://opened.uoguelph.ca/student-resources/Universal-Instructional-Design). Please contact Dr. Andreas Boecker, aboecker@uoguelph.ca, should you like to discuss the options for the delivery of this course prior to making an application.” The candidate will be expected to host and moderate guest speaker sessions (identifying and inviting guest speakers will be done in collaboration with the department chair and the Dean’s Office). The candidate will be expected to prepare and deliver lectures and seminars and interact with students on a group and one-to-one basis, as well as interact with the students through the online course modules and assessments, such as online-discussions. The course has an expected enrolment of 35 students. Up to 10 hours of lecture, preparation and online interaction time and office hours will be required on a weekly basis.

Prior Teaching Experience: 
Successful teaching related to field at college or university level
Required competence, capability, skill and ability related to course content: 
The candidate will have knowledge of major aspects of the food and agricultural industries across the entire supply chain, as well as key aspects of career readiness related to career development, writing resumes and cover letters for job applications and conduct in interviews. They will have advanced training in one or more relevant fields of food and agriculture and a good appreciation of the challenges that students face in managing first or early-career interactions with organizations in food and agriculture, because students may not have had any exposure to work experience and career considerations in food and agriculture.
