Duties will focus on the development of first year physics labs for remote learning. The development will focus on creating laboratory activities that can be done by students 'at home', using a combination of "found resources" and materials that can be provided through a low-cost lab kit that students would purchase through the University. The successful candidate will work with the developmental team to: 1) Identifying the key curricular topics in PHYS*1070,1080,1300 and assessing the applicability of labs as learning supports for these topics. 2) Reviewing the existing on-campus lab-experiments and existing virtual labs; assessing the suitability of conversion to a remote-format. 3) Develop and test lab materials & resources that will be used to conduct, measure and analyse experiments. 4) Write, edit and review lab outlines. 5) Establish metrics for, and assessment of, student engagement and pedagogical impact.

Required Qualifications
Degree: 
Masters related to field
Prior Teaching Experience: 
Many years of successful teaching related to contents of the course.
Required competence, capability, skill and ability related to course content: 
Previous experience with lab creation and virtual instruction for introductory physics; familiarity with best practices in pedagogy; familiarity with online lab-based physics simulations, applets and tools (e.g. PhET, Wolfram Demonstrations Project, Geogebra, Desmos, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
Specific Preferred competence, capability, skill and ability related to course content: 
Experience with science outreach activities & workshops

Days and Times Required: 
Weekly meetings with the developmental team. Milestones to be discussed at the first meeting.

Wages (per semester, per full-load): 
minimum $7,485.99 (effective 2020/21)
