IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING WORK ASSIGNMENTS AND COURSE DELIVERY IN OUR FALL RETURN-TO-CAMPUS PLANNING. The University will be offering a significant portion of its courses face-to-face “In-Class”. Remote and alternative delivery modes will also occur. * Managing the Teaching Assistants (if applicable) for the course. * Attending meetings with students and being available for advising times. * Developing assignments and marking schemes. * Using Courselink or Moodle to provide course materials, assignments, and student evaluations. * Hold a meeting with teaching assistants at the beginning and end of term. * Facilitate lectures for the course * Provide management oversight of teaching assistants, instruct them in their job tasks and provide any training required for teaching assistants to meet their responsibilities. * Be available to invigilate any on-campus examinations.
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. or M.Sc. with Appropriate Experience in Computer Science or a closely related discipline
Prior Teaching Experience: 
Post-secondary teaching of a similar course
Required competence, capability, skill and ability related to course content: 
* Able to fluently communicate in written and spoken English. * Must be available to attend and conduct scheduled office hours throughout the entire semester, attend weekly meetings, and be available to moderate online forums, if applicable, as assigned by the instructor. * Extensive software development experience. * Must have excellent writing skills and be able to effectively critique student assignments in writing. * The ability to communicate computer science concepts to students effectively, both in written form and verbally. * Demonstrated knowledge of computer networking, for example, successful completion of at least one course in computer networks, or related industry experience. * Familiar with Linux systems and commands * Must be able to instruct students on proper socket coding protocol in C.
Preferred Qualifications
Specific Preferred competence, capability, skill and ability related to course content: 
* Previous experience with network programming specifically in C-type languages will be considered an asset. * Previous experience with networking technologies specifically related to the construction and generation of FTP network infrastructure (either software or hardware). * Previous teaching experience related to the 7-layer OSI network model will be considered an asset.
