This course will teach students to develop, implement, and improve public health programs. Understanding an organization's mission and priorities, and developing business plans is critical for an effective administrator. Furthermore, it introduces theories and effective components of leadership and describes the practical role of the leader. **** The University of Guelph promotes a healthy campus. Degree: 
Masters related to field
PhD in progress related to field
Master of Public Health
Prior Teaching Experience: 
Successful teaching related to field at college or university level
Required competence, capability, skill and ability related to course content: 
- Background in Public Health and/or health systems, including having completed a course in public health program development and implementation. - Research in health service integration and implementation. - Worked with graduate students in public health program development and implementation. - Extensive familiarity with the University of Guelph's MPH program. - A PhD in Public Health, Health Administration, Health Policy, or a closely related field. - Demonstrated expertise in public health leadership, program planning, and organizational management. - Experience teaching at the graduate level, particularly in public health or health administration. - Familiarity with Canadian public health systems and policy frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications
Degree: 
PhD and expert in course content
Specific Preferred competence, capability, skill and ability related to course content: 
- Successful completeion of the course is an asset. - Professional experience in a leadership or administrative role within a public health organization (e.g., public health unit, ministry, NGO). - Experience developing and evaluating public health programs. - Knowledge of business planning, strategic leadership, and organizational change in health contexts. - Experience with online or hybrid course delivery, especially for professional graduate programs.
