Other Course Description or Assignment Information: 
This intensive seminar offers an analysis of a selection of plays by William Shakespeare. In addition to textual analysis, the students will also be introduced to the stage history of the plays being considered, paying attention to the conditions of production. The course includes consideration of plays by Shakespeare currently on stage at the Stratford Festival; this two-week course is taught off-site in Stratford, Ontario. Students will have the opportunity to see these plays (for an additional fee) over the course of the seminar. Please contact the School for further information.

Experience teaching Shakespeare as both a textual-based experience as well as a theatre performance experience.

Quality and/or Recent Research activity in Shakespeare demonstrating knowledge of current developments in Shakespearean performance research. Expertise in theatre history including knowledge of Shakespearean theatre, Canadian theatre, as well as the Stratford Festival of Canada.
