This course examines selected topics on young offenders in Canada and elsewhere. Candidates should provide in their application evidence of prior teaching experience and teaching success/excellence related to course content, which may include a dossier, teaching philosophy, examples of teaching innovations, course developments, evaluations of previously taught courses (e.g., peer evaluations and/or student feedback), reference letters, and any other relevant information they wish to have evaluated by the selection committee (some documents on file in the department or program, such as UofGH Student Feedback Questionnaires of courses taught on UofG contracts, may also be used). Practical experience or project work working with youth in the justice system, with applied knowledge of youth crime legislation, delinquency theories, and interventions for young offenders. Research background in youth crime and justice, with expertise in delinquency theories, youth legislation, and cross-national studies of young offenders.
