This is an hourly appointment pursuant to art.14 schedule C. To be scheduled between student and instructor. Instrument: Violin and dance/movement (actor/musicians) The University of Guelph has vaccination and masking policies that may be altered with limited notice depending on COVID-19 circumstances and advice from government, public health authorities, and prevailing science. Currently, the vaccination and masking policies are paused but may resume with little advance notice to address the health risks. Should this occur, vaccinations will be required. Bachelor's of Musical Theatre (Performance) or Artist's Diploma in Music
Prior Teaching Experience:

successful teaching and professional experience (musical theatre performance) related to the field
Required competence, capability, skill and ability related to course content: 
Experience in the individual instruction of students in the technical and stylistic aspects of artistic solo musical performance, dance/movement, and character development.
Preferred Qualifications

Advanced training in the performing arts at either the university or the college level
Prior Teaching Experience: 
Other
Experience teaching dance, character development, musical theatre, and/or choreography.
Specific Preferred competence, capability, skill and ability related to course content: 
Experience with violin performance in music theatre/on-stage settings. Ability to choreograph scenes for violin/movement. Experience improvising/creating music for on-stage violin performance in musical theatre settings.
Days Required and Wages
Days and Times Required: 
One hour/week per student as negotiated between student and instructor.
