This course studies biophysical factors and their influence on design - including soils, climate, vegetation, hydrology, and fauna. Natural and cultural systems interpretation, site assessment methods, and data presentation techniques will be outlined.

Required Qualifications
Degree: 
Masters related to field
an MLA or BLA with a related masters degree or significant professional experience
Prior Teaching Experience:

Design teaching experience at University or College level is preferred
Required competence, capability, skill and ability related to course content: 
Candidate should have at least 3-5 years of professional experience conducting landscape site inventory and analysis. Design studio teaching experience is considered an asset. The candidate should have a passion for understanding a project site and, bring strong verbal and graphic communication skills and strong time management skills. An ability to support both sketching, software training, and field work experience through desk crits and tutorials is an asset.
