Exam and assessment preparation and grading, including preparing and submitting course marks Submitting the exam grading scheme to the ADA’s administrative officer before the end of the semester in which the course occurs. Preparation of a deferred exam and grading scheme, with both submitted to the ADA’s administrative officer before the end of the semester in which the course occurs. Mentoring, training, and supporting TAs in the preparation of materials for tutorials and in exam and assessment grading.

Required competence, capability, skill and ability related to course content: 
The successful candidate must have - A master’s degree or undergraduate degree in an engineering discipline - Be in the process of obtaining a PhD in an engineering discipline - Successfully completed ENGG*2400 or equivalent during an engineering undergraduate degree OR demonstrated instructor/TA experience in this or an equivalent course. - Strong understanding of first and second order systems modeling, Laplace transform, transfer functions, and associated tools. - Working knowledge of MATLAB systems toolbox.

Specific Preferred competence, capability, skill and ability related to course content: 
The ideal candidate will have: 1. Significant experience (>4) as a TA or instructor in interdisciplinary engineering courses (e.g., this course, interdisciplinary design courses, etc.). Note: natural science courses, math courses, or disciplinary courses taken by a breadth of engineering students do not constitute an interdisciplinary engineering course for the purposes of this experience measure (e.g., an introductory circuits course taken by many engineering disciplines does not meet this criteria) 2. Recent (within 5 years) awards/recognition for teaching quality (including awards for TA quality) 3. Recent (within 5 years) completion of courses/workshops or other professional development regarding teaching practice 4. Engagement with teaching practice through non-traditional measures (e.g., as a peer helper or equivalent, as a formal/paid tutor, etc.). The ideal candidate will be extremely familiar with: 1. Systems thinking approaches to teaching and learning and to engineering 2. Evidence-based teaching methods, especially those that build problem solving skills 3. Active learning techniques, with willingness to apply them to large (>150) classes 4. Design and grading of open-ended exam and assessment questions. The ideal candidate will have outstanding oral communication skills, particularly with respect to engaging with complex or threshold concepts
