NUTR*4090 is a core course for the BSc NANS program while being a highly desirable science elective for many student at the University of Guelph. It deals with how to design and run human clinical trials of function foods and natural health products and how to use the evidence collected in publications, regulatory applications for these products, commercial marketing and nutrition studies. Familiarity with human research ethics and biosafety protocols is essential. The ideal applicant will have involvement in human research, such that he or she is able to draw on personal experience for class discussions.
