FRAN*6140 is offered in a unique format that requires ongoing student participation over a two-year period. There are a total of 12 seminars. These include three seminars in fall term and three in the winter term of the student's first academic year in the CFT Program, followed by the same pattern in the second year. This posting is for 2 semesters (as such: 3, 3 hour classes per semester in fall 2018 and winter 2019), however there will be another similar posting for fall 2019 and winter 2020 available in early spring of 2019.

Other Duties Described: 
(1) Preparation and delivery of the course material in an organized and effective matter. (2) Effective and professional communication. (3) Office hours when needed and regular student email consultation. (4) Accurate, consistent and timely grading within a 2 week period. The use of a grading rubric is strongly recommended. (5) Timely and accurate submission of final grades as per department deadline. (6) Facilitate student course evaluations. (7) Consult with the CFT Academic Program Coordinator to ensure that course design and delivery adheres to the accreditation standards set by AAMFT. (8) Provide the CFT Academic Program Coordinator with an updated course outline at the earliest convenience and no later than one week before the start of classes. (9) Obtain approval from the CFT Academic Program Coordinator for any significant changes to the course outline, including but not limited to a change in textbook or assessment strategies. (10) Complete Accessible Service Provision, Making Education Accessible and Environmental Health and Safety online courses, if not previously completed. (11) Following the end of the semester, as per Article 14.10(a) in the CUPE 3913 Unit 2 Collective Agreement, you may also be requested to perform work as outlined therein. Reimbursement will be paid in accordance with Schedule "B" of the Collective Agreement upon submission of the extra hours and dates worked to the Department Chair, provided the Department Chair and Sessional previously agreed to the specific work/hours/dates.

Masters degree in Couple and Family Therapy or related field. Clinical member of AAMFT and approved supervisor or supervisor candidate with AAMFT.
Prior Teaching Experience: 
Successful teaching related to field at college or university level
Required competence, capability, skill and ability related to course content: 
APPLICANTS MUST INCLUDE A COVER LETTER WITH A DETAILED EXPLANATION OF EACH REQUIRED AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATION IN ADDITION TO THEIR CV. (1) Competence in teaching as demonstrated by submitted reference letter(s) from supervisor(s), and/or student evaluations and feedback. (2) In-depth knowledge and experience of (a) ethics in couple and family therapy (b) legal issues in the practice of family therapy (c) professional issues regarding identity, licensure and practice.

Days and Times Required: 
Selected Mondays 9:00-11:50 am. FRAN*6140 is offered in a unique format that requires ongoing student participation over a two-year period. There are a total of 12 seminars. These include three seminars in fall term and three in the winter term of the student's first academic year in the CFT Program, followed by the same pattern in the second year. These classes must take place during the normal teaching semester and at the time specified in the class schedule. This posting is for 2 semesters (as such: 3, 3 hour classes per semester in fall and winter). The instructor will be paid for one quarter of the standard sessional rate for each semester. Thus, the minimum wage for the two semesters will be $3,687.47 ($1,843.73 per semester)
