The Campbell Centre's mission is to promote the welfare of animals through research, outreach and education. Each year, the Campbell Centre hosts a day-long Research Symposium, where students and faculty can present their research to their colleagues, industry stakeholders, and the public.
The 2024 Careers in Biology event will run May 9 in the Summerlee Science Complex at U of G. It will feature panels from recent hires in exciting fields in biology. Graduate students are invited to join us for practical workshops where they can develop interview skills, take a new LinkedIn headshot, and learn about opportunities U of G has on campus.
Schedule:
Hundreds of local high school students visit campus to compete in more than 20 science, technology, engineering and math activities. Visit the BattleSTEM website for more information.
This year's keynote speaker is Dr. Jaideep Bains, director of the Krembil Research Institute, who will speak about "Synapses, Circuits and Stress." Bains' research focuses on how the brain responds to stress, focusing on using various approaches to look at how the molecular, hormonal and behavioural changes elicited by stress will effect how the brain will respond to future stressors.
We encourage one student from every lab to register for an oral presentation, and anyone else who wishes to present to register for a poster.
