How has your education at the U of G helped you build your skills and experience to become a young leader in the HFTM industry?

My education and experience at the University of Guelph helped build my skills in becoming a young leader through the many opportunities made available to me in my time there. Additionally, the uniquely knowledgeable and skillful professors that helped guide me through my years at the U of G were valuable to helping me build the leader I am today.

When did you realize the hospitality and tourism industry is something you wanted to pursue?

I realized the hospitality industry was something I wanted to pursue when I was very young. I started baking cakes for all my family events and had so much fun getting creative. Baking for fun turned into a job at a bakery, which then turned into a job at a restaurant which brought me to Guelph for the hospitality program.

What is it about working in the hospitality industry that you love?

I love working in the hospitality industry because nothing brings me more joy than bringing friends and family together over good food and great service. Working in this industry is my passion so it never really feels like work to me.
