Game Design
Enter the Matrix and master the language of computers all while planning, designing, and bringing your very own video game to life! Game Design focuses on skills related to computer programming and software implementation, specifically targeting the development of video games. Campers will learn how to create objects, characters, game interactions, controls, and more. In addition, non-programming skills related to gaming will be developed, such as conceptualizing gameplay and themes. Throughout the program, campers will have opportunities to engage with UofG computer science and/or software engineering mentors, gaining insight into those fields.
Expect to See
Hands-on computer programming focused on video game development, designing characters, objects, and interactive game environments, coding gameplay mechanics, controls, and player interactions, creative planning of game themes, stories, and user experience, and opportunities to learn from University of Guelph computer science and/or software engineering mentors!
