Creative Encounters Waiver Information
Emergency & Medical Policy, Parental Release and Indemnification
Before campers and club members begin one of our camps, guardians are required to sign a waiver.
By signing our waiver, parents or guardians acknowledge the inherent risks involved in camp activities, including recreational and lab-based programming, and transportation to and from camp. They authorize camp staff to administer basic first aid or seek emergency medical care if needed. Any medical treatment costs incurred are the responsibility of the parent or guardian.
Additionally, parents release the University of Guelph, Creative Encounters, and Actua, as well as their staff, volunteers, and agents, from any claims of damages, loss, or injury that may arise from participation in camp activities. This release ensures understanding and acceptance of these terms as a condition for the camper’s participation.
Creative Encounters Photo Permission Form
At the beginning of camp, guardians are asked to complete a photo permission form. By signing the Photo Permission section of the waiver, parents or guardians authorize the University of Guelph and its authorized agents, including Creative Encounters and Actua (our national network partner), to take and use photos, video, and audio recordings of campers. These materials may be used for promotional purposes, including on websites, social media, printed materials, and other media formats, both now and in the future. Guardians acknowledge that while efforts are made to manage the use of these images, control over their spread online or in public media cannot be guaranteed.
