Dr. Lisa Duizer appointed Assistant Dean of Graduate Programs
The Ontario Agricultural College (OAC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Lisa Duizer as Assistant Dean, Graduate Programs, effective May 1 for a five-year term.
Duizer brings extensive academic leadership experience to the role, having most recently served as chair of the Department of Food Science. During her tenure, the department advanced innovative master’s programs and short courses designed to train leaders in the agri-food sector.
The Assistant Dean of Graduate Programs plays a critical role in the development, growth and ongoing success of OAC’s course-based master’s programs. In this position, Duizer will support the continued evolution of these programs to ensure they remain relevant, high-quality and responsive to the needs of students and industry.
“I’m excited to take on this role and to build on the strong foundation that has been established,” says Duizer. “There is a real opportunity to enhance collaboration across U of G and create innovative, relevant programs that prepare master’s students to lead in a rapidly evolving agri-food sector.”
Duizer succeeds Dr. Emmanuelle Arnaud, whose leadership has been instrumental in building and strengthening OAC’s course-based master’s program offerings.
“I look forward to the leadership and vision Duizer will bring to this role as OAC continues to expand opportunities for graduate education and strengthen its impact across the agri-food sector,” says OAC dean Dr. John Cranfield.
As Duizer begins her five-year term, Dr. Mike Rogers will serve as interim chair of the Department of Food Science.
