The provost and vice-president (academic) is the chief academic officer of the institution and the principal adviser to the president on all academic affairs. The provost is the highest ranking officer after the president and serves as the acting president in the president’s absence.
The vice-president (external) oversees the departments of Alumni Affairs and Development and Communications and Public Affairs, as well as government and community relations. Those areas lead the development of public and private philanthropic support for the University, and build relationships with key stakeholders to enhance connectivity and engagement.
The vice-president (research) leads the University’s research enterprise. The vice-president (research) champions U of G's research community externally, and is the lead advocate for regional, provincial, national and international research funding and partnerships.
The vice-president (finance, administration and risk) oversees a broad range of services, notably providing quality specialized services to the University community; ensuring a safe, healthy and productive environment; and ensuring fiscal responsibility.
