How do I extend an Offer to a Work Assignment of a "NotPublic" Posting?

A. Create (or Clone) the Posting

Be careful to create a new posting, or clone a posting, but do not edit an existing posting. In the posting administrative area, ensure that:

1. Posting Status = Available-NotPublic

2. Select: This Assignment Will Be Posted (publicly available) = No-notPosted

3. Select: A reason why this Posting will not be Posted Publicly.

4. Include an "Admin. Memo" for any additional information.

5. Ensure the Posting has not Expired.

6. SAVE Posting.  A NotPublic Posting will have a unique JobID#.

B. Inform the Candidate

1.    Copy the posting URL to include in an email notification to the candidate.  Sample email notification:

Dear [Name],

The following work assignment for [JobID - course number, course name] has been created for you.  Please ensure you are logged into the system to review the posting here: [URL].

If you would like to accept this work assignment, please:

  • Respond at your earliest convenience and by [POSTING DEADLINE DATE].
  • Ensure your PROFILE is up to date.
  • [CHOOSE ONE] Click on this link to Submit a TA-GSA-1 application: [URL: https://uoguelph.ca/sessional_ta/teaching-assistant-np] OR Click on this link to Submit a SL application: [URL: https://uoguelph.ca/sessional_ta/sessional-lecturer-np
  • Select our academic unit [DEPT].
  • Respond ONLY to the work assignment identified above.
  • Select Job ID to review the posting/work assignment details.
  • Select “Submit an Application”. 
  • Complete the form and “Save”.
  • You will be notified by email that your Application has been received.
  • You will then shortly be notified of an Offer of Appointment to which you will respond to online.
