Christian Giroux is a sculptor and works exclusively in collaboration with fellow artist Daniel Young. Giroux and Young employ industrial materials and prototyping methodolgies to produce works that reflect upon the history of abstaction, modernist generative models and the imbrication of social meaning in phenomenal experience. They have exhibited across North America and are represented by Diaz Contemporary in Toronto. Giroux has taught at The University of Western Ontario, The University of Victoria and The Art Gallery of Ontario among other post-secondary institutions. He received his BFA from the University of Victoria and completed his MFA at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. His critical writing has appeared in Canadian Art and Border Crossings, and he has curated exhibitions at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria and the Doris McCarthy Gallery at the University of Toronto, Scarborough.
