Lost and Found
The lost and found service is located at the Campus Safety Office located in the Trent Building on campus, 32 Trent Lane. We are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to help you.
- If you lost something in a classroom or lab, talk with your professor/teaching assistant to see if they found your item after class.
- Items lost in the library or any athletic facility on campus may have been turned in to the client services desks, check with them first.
- Residence keys should be surrendered to a residence desk to be matched with their owner before being turned in to the Campus Safety Office.
Lost and Found FAQ
Some of the items the University of Guelph Campus Safety Office accepts and processes include the following:
- Personal Identification
- Wallets
- Cash, Cheques, Credit Cards
- Jewelry
- Cell Phones
- Bicycles
- Laptop Computers
- Other Electronics
- Keys
If there are any identifying features about the item that connects to your name, we will locate you in our student or staff directory. You will receive an email to your U of G email address with directions for pick up for pick up at our office.
Once you have received an email from us, come to the Campus Safety Office to pick it up. When you arrive to claim your property please bring photo ID or something that verifies you. You will be asked to sign a paper to release the item back to you.
You can check back with our office at a later date to see if it was turned in.
Please note that our retention period expires at the end of each semester after which all uncollected items will go to auction.
