Genomics Facility

The Genomics Facility offers specialized molecular biology services including Single Cell Sequencing, Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), genotyping, and gene expression analysis as well as bioinformatic and statistical support. Custom Illumina and Oxford Nanopore projects are supported. As an Ontario Genomics Platform Affiliate (OGPA), the facility supports research and training for academic, government, and private sector clients.

The Mass Spectrometry Facility provides mass spectrometry analysis to researchers on campus, and assists in the development and analysis of mass spectrometry experiments.

Molecular and Cellular Imaging Facility

The Advanced Light Microscopy and Electron Microscopy Units offer high-performance imaging services to internal and external researchers. The Light Microscopy Unit features confocal and super-resolution systems, high-speed and high-content microscopes, and specialized instruments for cell sorting and plate imaging. The Electron Microscopy Unit, operating on a cost-recovery basis, includes a transmission electron microscopes (TEM), a  scanning electron microscope (SEM), and comprehensive sample preparation equipment, supporting a wide range of imaging needs across disciplines.

NMR Centre

The NMR Centre offers advanced solution and solid-state NMR spectroscopy services through six modern spectrometers, available to academic and industry clients at competitive rates with fast turnaround. Services include data acquisition, experimental design support, and optional data analysis or reporting. Capabilities include small molecule structure elucidation, metabolomics, quantitative NMR, diffusion measurements, and studies of biomolecules, polymers, and carbohydrates.

Phytotron Facility

The Phytotron is a state-of-the-art plant growth facility supporting research and teaching by faculty, staff, and students across campus. Located atop the Summerlee Science Complex, it offers a wide range of greenhouse compartments and growth chambers that permit environmental control of temperature, light, humidity and carbon dioxide concentration. The infrastructure in the Phytotron facilitates innovative discovery based and applied research in plant biology.
