Oxford Nanopore PromethION 24

PromethION 48 Sequencer and PC

The PromethION 48 is a high-throughput nanopore sequencer capable of natively sequencing both RNA and DNA.

The PromethION can load up to 24 flow cells, each capable of multiplexing 96 samples or more. It is also possible to re-use flow-cells, decreasing cost and waste. The PromethION can be partially loaded: this scalability allows for extremely rapid turn-around times.

Suitable applications
  • Whole plasmid sequencing
  • Native methylation sequencing
  • Genome de-novo assembly
  • Population-scale sequencing
  • Metagenomics of complex communities
  • Samples with mixed fragment sizes
  • Highly multiplexed small genomes or targeted regions
  • Whole transcriptomes (direct RNA or cDNA)
  • Extremely fast turnaround times
