Students who love the University of Guelph’s creative, community-oriented vibe may find Bristol surprisingly familiar. Living is Guelph is characterized by the arts, culture, sustainability, and our campus life.

Bristol shares that same energy: a green, walkable city with a strong creative pulse. It’s the 8th largest city in the UK, yet still feels compact and neighbourhood-driven—known for its theatres, museums, festivals, and street-level arts (hello, Banksy), and recognised as both the UK’s only European Green Capital and a UNESCO Creative City of Film.

Overview of Programs

Prospective domestic and international undergraduate students admitted to an approved undergraduate major within the Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Arts and Sciences (BAS) and Bachelor of Creative Arts, Health and Wellness (BCAHW) programs will be eligible for guaranteed admission into one of the listed University of Bristol programs if they meet the following criteria:

  • 77% or above (equalling to B+ or above, GPA of 3.30 out of 4.00 or above)

A senior-status law degree, the MA Law is academically comparable to an LLB but awarded at the graduate level. It provides a strong foundation for students pursuing legal careers or further professional legal training in the UK. Students returning to Canada to practise law can seek qualification through the National Committee on Accreditation process.

  • Bristol is recognised as one of the UK’s largest legal hubs outside London, and its graduates are the fifth most targeted by top employers (High Fliers, 2024).
  • 3rd in the UK for legal research excellence.
  • One of few UK universities providing a MA Law (compared to an undergraduate LLB).
  • Supports students in building their legal network via the International Internship Scheme.
  • Students can work in an award-winning law clinic, providing free legal advice to members of the public.

The PGCE is a highly respected UK teaching qualification and can serve as an alternative pathway to a Bachelor of Education in Ontario. Students considering teaching in Ontario should note that additional steps and provincial requirements apply, but the PGCE is often an attractive option for those seeking international classroom experience and accelerated timelines.

  • The University of Bristol is ranked 3rd in the UK for Education.
  • Students gain breadth and depth of experience through two contrasting placements, totaling 120 days of hands-on training.
  • Students may be eligible for additional bursaries and scholarships via the UK government Initial Teacher Training

Designed for students interested in education policy, research, leadership, or further doctoral study, the MSc Education offers a research-informed approach to understanding education systems in a global context. Students will be able to tailor their studies in one of eight specialisms from Digital Education to Policy and International Development.
