Develop Your Leadership Skills
In Student Experience, we know that all students have leadership capacity. Our role is to help you realize your leadership potential and support you along the way with expert guidance and information.
We offer direct support and training for elected and appointed student representatives, leadership training, education and development for all students and on-demand training, advising and consulting services.
All of our events, including workshops, student leader trainings and conferences are listed on GryphLife.
Are you thinking about getting involved in leadership at Guelph but aren’t sure where to start? Get in touch with our Leadership Education & Development Advisor, Jen Durst (jdurst@uoguelph.ca). Jen can help you figure out what your options are.
In addition to supporting students in their leadership journey, we serve as a resource to the University community on leadership education and skill development and have expertise on University policy and process as it relates to student organizations and governance.
LAUNCH Training for Student Groups and Leaders
It’s a launch pad for success with the Leadership Education Team and an opportunity to connect with and learn from your fellow student leaders. Every September student leaders from across campus come together for LAUNCH Training. This free event covers everything from policy updates, student risk management, organizational structure, event planning, networking, and more. Visit GryphLife for event details or contact leader@uoguelph.ca for more information.
Summer Leadership Workshop Series
A series of hybrid workshops are offered during the Summer semester that are open to students in any leadership position across campus. Workshop topics are updated each year but centre around themes to set students up for success during the academic year. Themes typically include transitioning leaders within your student organization, team dynamics, conflict resolution, and creating inclusive spaces within your team. Visit GryphLife for details or contact leader@uoguelph.ca for more information.
