The Zeiss Axiozoom V.16 combines a 16x zoom with a high numerical aperture lens. It is capable of bright field colour imaging and fluorescence imaging of large fields or multiple samples.
The inverted Nikon Eclipse Ti2 microscope, equipped with a high precision encoded stage and Perfect Focus System is specifically designed for automated acquisition of large image files, and fast ratiometric imaging.

Liquid Nitrogen
Liquid nitrogen is very cold (-195°C). Splashes and spatter can cause cold burns and frostbite. Protect your face and skin, and always use gloved hands or tongs to manipulate items that have been in contact with liquid nitrogen.
Confocal Microscopy Unit
BookitLab used to book a time at any instrument in the Advancel Light Microscopy Unit. Registration information and a link to the facility will be provided after training is completed.
Electron Microscopy Unit
Internal billing will be done as a journal entry. A billing information sheet providing the trust fund number must be filled out, with accompanying authorization, before the facility can be used. These sheets are available for download. External billing will be done by invoicing the user, institution or company following usage.
The Advanced Analysis Centre (AAC) at the University of Guelph is a group of research laboratories housed in the University’s Summerlee Science Complex. The AAC spans an area of over 1000m2 and contains approximately $40 M of research equipment purchased with funds from the Canada Foundation for Innovation, Ontario Research Fund and Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada.
