Position Description:

A search has begun, internal to the university, for a new Chair of the Department of Mathematics & Statistics at the Associate or Full Professor rank. The initial appointment will be for five years to begin May 1, 2023, or soon thereafter and may be renewed once.

The Mathematics & Statistics department features; 25 research and teaching faculty, over 130 students in undergraduate majors, more than 45 students in graduate programs, award winning researchers and teaching excellence. Faculty members are active in Applied Analysis; Biomathematics and Biostatistics; Computational Statistics; Dynamical Systems; Quantum Information, Survival Analysis, Scholarship of Teaching & Learning, and other areas. In addition, research grants in Mathematics and Statistics total approximately $1 Million from all sources.

The closing date and time for the receipt of applications for the position is 4:30 p.m. Thursday, December 22, 2022, or until the position is filled. A complete application consists of (i) an updated curriculum vitae (ii) a candidate’s brief that highlights qualifications and experience (iii) a vision statement regarding the future of the disciplines and the department and (iv) the names of three referees who may be contacted in confidence by the Committee.
