Position Description:

The School of Engineering at the University of Guelph invites applications for a tenure-track appointment, in the area of Mechanical Engineering, at the level of Assistant Professor. Applicants must have research expertise in the area of mechatronics and control. The ideal candidate will develop an internationally recognized, externally-funded and independent research program, supervise graduate and undergraduate students, teach courses at undergraduate and graduate levels, develop and teach innovative graduate and undergraduate courses in area of Mechatronics and control, contribute to teaching design courses, and provide service to the University and the engineering profession. We are particularly interested in applicants who have a strong teaching record in core mechanical and mechatronics engineering courses, particularly in mechatronics and control.

The candidate must hold an undergraduate university degree in mechanical engineering and an earned PhD in mechanical (or mechatronics) engineering or a closely related field. Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario is a requirement of this position at the time of hiring. Priority will be given to those with P.Eng registration.

The School of Engineering (SOE) at University of Guelph has accredited undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Biological Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Engineering Systems and Computing, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Water Resources Engineering.
