Position Description:

The University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus invites applications for four (4) fixed term part-time College Lecturers to deliver the following Agriculture Diploma courses for the winter semester:

  • DAGR*4600 Human Resources Management
  • DAGR*4220 Organic Production
  • DAGR*3080 Marketing
  • DAGR*2020 Financial Management

These positions are covered by the University of Guelph Faculty Association (UGFA) Unit 2. These appointments will begin in January 2024 and end in April 2024. These positions are based at the Ridgetown Campus, in the municipality of Chatham-Kent, 200km southwest of the University’s main campus in Guelph.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Academic Quality and Student Success, the College Lecturers will be responsible for teaching in the Agriculture Diploma program. The incumbents will be responsible for the preparation and delivery of appropriate course materials, evaluation of student progress and individual academic consultations with students.

Position Requirements:

An undergraduate or master’s degree in a related field (Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Business, Agriculture, Business Administration etc.), combined with a minimum of three years of experience working in a related industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience teaching at the post-secondary level and those with applied production knowledge of North American agriculture. Candidates must have strong communication and presentation skills, a proven record of diplomacy and teamwork, and the ability to incorporate relevant, practical, hands-on experience into teaching methods. Advanced proficiency with MS Office and internet applications is required. We are seeking candidates with a passion for teaching and enthusiasm for the agricultural industry to join our campus community.

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
