Position Description:

The Department of Marketing and Consumer Studies, Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics at the University of Guelph invites applications from outstanding candidates for a two-year contractually-limited position at the Assistant Professor level.

The successful candidate should have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a recognized program in Canada. Candidate with a license to practice law in any Canadian provinces will be preferred. A Master’s in Marketing or in a related field will be beneficial. This position will be responsible for teaching courses related business law, public policies, and business communications. The candidate will also provide support in advising students, promote graduate and undergraduate programs to potential students, engage alumni and build networks with external stakeholders for the department. Interest or experience in teaching digital marketing and related courses will be a plus.

We are seeking a candidate who has a proven track record of engaging and nurturing students for active learning. To manage student advising and alumni engagement, the candidate also needs to be compassionate and empathic. The candidate should also have a proven track record of conducting research to prepare a report for the department using primary and secondary data on our students, alumni and external stakeholders.

The Department of Marketing and Consumer Studies is located in the Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics. We offer two Bachelor of Commerce majors, one in Marketing Management and one in Real Estate and Housing. At the graduate level, we offer a Ph.D. in Management with a concentration in Marketing, a Master of Science in Marketing and Consumer Studies, and a Graduate Diploma in Market Research.
