My study investigates the molecular gut contents of spider predators in agricultural landscapes. Each cell in this well plate is an individual spider specimen which has been ground up and its gut contents free floating. The colours you see paint a picture of how much gut content each specimen has, and DNA sequencing will tell me the diversity of prey eaten to better understand biological control potential on farms.
