Often our field research sites have a rich history. Kent Island has seen a storied cast of characters pass over its fields, here, a herring gull lands on the gravestone of Priscilla Kent, one of Kent Island's early inhabitants before it was a research station, and in the background are mist-nets that are set for the capture of a savannah sparrow, one of the males in our long-term marked population.
